1973’s 24 Hours of Le Mans was a classic, a battle between defending winners Matra and Ferrari, who entered their 312 PB, which had conquered every race in 1972 except Le Mans. Both cars had screaming 12-cylinder engines. This amazing video has some of the best sound I’ve heard for footage this old, allowing you to hear the Matra and Ferrari in all their glory. The GT class was also very competitive, with Porsche 911s, Ford Capris, Ferrari Daytonas, and the monstrous Greenwood Corvette. So sit back and enjoy a great look at one of Le Mans’ best races.
